Hysterosalpingo-Foam Sonography (HyFoSy), using ExEm-gel for creating stable foam, was developed as an office procedure for tubal patency testing. The technique was tested in a prospective laparoscopy-controlled study. Hysterosalpingo Contrast Sonography (HyCoSy) is, compared to the Hysterosalpingography (HSG), a first-line investigation to diagnose female tubal subfertility. For tubal patency testing, HyFoSy with ExEm-gelfoam is performing better then HyCoSy with saline, in terms of accuracy.

ExEm-gel is considered to be safe, as the components have been used intravenously and in the abdominal cavity for other medical purposes. There are no known serious side effects and have been found to be less painful than HSG. HyFoSy may improve women’s chances of pregnancy, although this has to be investigated further.

SonoCath HSG Cathers are purposely designed for fertllity clinics. These easy-to-use devices provide enhanced visualization, yet a minimally invasive effective procedure. The HS Catheter is ideal for Hysterosalpingography and Sonohysterography procedures. Injectable bacteriostatic solution.

This preparation is designed for parenteral use only after addition of drugs that require dilution or must be dissolved in an aqueous vehicle prior to injection. Bacteriostatic 0.9% Sodium Chloride Injection, USP is a sterile, nonpyrogenic, isotonic solution of sodium chloride in water for injection. Each milliliter (mL) contains sodium chloride 9 mg and 0.9% (9 mg/mL) benzyl alcohol added as a bacteriostatic preservative. May contain hydrochloric acid for pH adjustment. It is supplied in a multiple-dose container from which repeated withdrawals may be made to dilute or dissolve drugs for medication. The pH is 5.0 (4.5 to 7.0). Sodium Chloride, USP is chemically designated NaCl, a white crystalline powder freely soluble in water. The semi-rigid vial is fabricated from a specially formulated polyolefin.

Bioteque’s Latex-Free HSG Catheter Sets, with a silicone balloon, are useful in evaluating the causes of abnormal bleeding, menstrual disorders, recurrent miscarriage, and unexpected infertility.

With the guiding sheath, position the HSG catheter so that the tip of the catheter is at the entrance of the cervix external OS. Gently push the HSG catheter, with balloon, through the cervical canal and into the uterine cavity. Inflate the balloon within the uterine cavity and close the balloon stopcock to prevent the balloon from deflating. Carefully withdraw the catheter until the balloon is resting against the internal OS. Now inject the contrast media into the uterus and proceed with the examination.  Important: Syringe should not be pulled past a hole present on the wall of syringe;  it is a safety feature to prevent over-inflation of balloon.

The Os Finder naturally seeks and gently opens the cervical Os. Made of an extremely smooth and malleable Teflon-like material, this instrument is ideal for use in intracervical dilation or uterine sounding, or for intrauterine procedures.

The Os Finder is used to find the external os by simply pushing the narrow end gently against the cervix until it finds its way. Further insertion of the flexible tip will follow the natural path of the canal until it reaches and goes through the internal os. Sklar's® Pratt Uterine Dilator is a double-ended OB/GYN instrument used for progressive dilation of the uterus. It is most frequently used during intrauterine procedures such as D&C and D&E. The size of these dilators is determined by the circumference of the tip and measured in French units, with one French unit equalling 1/3mm. 

Each dilator has two different size tips. In comparison to other intrauterine dilators, Pratt dilators taper more gradually and are slightly lighter than Hegar dilators. They do not have a cuff to serve as a stop for depth of insertion such as featured on Hank dilators. The instrument is straight in the middle, slightly curved at each end, with a smooth, rounded tip.
