SK-116 Starter Kit is an in-house Biological Indicator System. This starter kit includes a dry block incubator 60 degrees centigrade, record notebook, vial crusher, box of 25 Sporeview Self Contained Biological strips  and a wall poster. 

Certified for use with ALL steam sterilization cycles. This system gives clear, easy to interpret results for monitoring the effectiveness of the sterilization process. Final results are known after only 24 hours incubation in any compatible dry block incubator operating at 55-60ºC. For users convenience, SPS Medical offers a calibrated 60ºC dry block incubator that comes with 15 wells and a lifetime warranty. Shelf life for BI Strips is 2 years.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE :

• Moisten Fluorescein tip with sterile irrigation or saline solution
• While the patient looks down, touch the bulbar conjunctiva with the moistened tip
• The patient should then blink several times to obtain the best result
• Discard strip after use

Although in most cases a clinician can easily identify and access the veins of their patient's, there are those patients with hard to find veins, such as the obese, elderly and patients with dark skin.

• Slide the light over the patient’s arm looking for a dark line (a vein) to appear between and parallel to both arms.
• Depress both arms on either side of the dark line. If the dark line disappears and reappears when pressure is released, you have located a patent vein.
